mark sanderson's report of klondike 2003-Troop 107

a week before the klondike i woke up at 8:00 to go to the church and practice with my troop. Then at the klondike, a week later, when we got started we were determined to win. we kept cheering each other on as we kept going. about an hour later the race stopped we added up our time but we didn't know if it was right. while we were sleding, a air cannon went off, signaling for everyone to come to and see the results of the race. when everyone was in and calmed down they started telling the winners. As the conductor revealed the third place winner and their time, we knew we would place because our time was better than their's. Then the conductor revealed the second place winner and the first, then for the grand prize. he opened the envolope and revealed the troop number 107 and our time. we already knew we won since we added up the time, and it never could have happened if our scoutleaders didn't push us to practice.
